Hello!
My name is Katherine Venegas Jacobus. I am the owner and principal genealogist at Ancestry Nerd Genealogy.
I am a lifelong genealogist, linguist and writer.
My interest in genealogy started in 1995 when I found out my mother was Jewish. To honor my Ashkenazi grandfather, I decided to learn German which has paid dividends when doing genealogy. I am also able to conduct genealogical research in Spanish, English, and French.
Being multilingual makes it easier to discover lost family tree branches and find living family members in North America, South America, and Europe. It has helped me to answer longstanding family mysteries and breakthrough brick walls.
As a freelance writer, I enjoy researching and creating wonderfully rich reports detailing your family history. I try to include details about local history, geography, and customs. I scour through newspapers, journals, books, and databases to find pictures and articles that tell a more well-rounded understanding of people.
Having a Bachelor's of Science from Michigan State comes in handy when using DNA and forensic genealogy to identify heirs, beneficiaries, and living family members.
Over the years, it has been my pleasure to help reunite relatives and solve paternity issues with DNA. I will use all my skills to help trace your family through time. With any luck, the clues will solve family mysteries and create new connections with relatives.
